The League of Thelonigul

Although the kings of the Rinuxosu still lay claim to the title of High King of all the Xosu, a true kingdom encompassing all the tribes of the Xosu has not existed since the Dusk of the old kingdoms.

Even in those golden days the Xosu were divided more often than not, the sons of Xosu taking their own followers their separate ways after the god returned to the realm of the gods. When a powerful enough king emerged, he would rule all the Xosu as High King from the golden palace of Thelonigul, the last man to truly do so was Tholophos. His son, Tildun followed him, but his realm was ever divided.

More than eight hundred years have passed since Tildun’s death and no new High King has risen to take his place. Instead, the tribes of the Xosu, the Rinuxosu, Silxosu, Salxosu and Tilxosu, are divided and each Xosu city rules itself, but formal alliances between the cities and tribes are common.

In recent times, the Rinuxosu and the League of Butophulo fought a long and destructive war, which men have taken to calling the War for the Forge, for hegemony of the Xosu world. The war lasted for almost twenty years and only ended when King Tekolger III Phalazkon of the Doldun intervened on behalf of the Rinuxosu and vanquished the army of the League of Butophulo, after which the city surrendered. The king then convened a council at the ruins of Thelonigul, the ancient capital of the Xosu kingdom, and proclaimed the League of Thelonigul which would encompass all the Xosu of Xosupil with the king himself as the League’s Hegemon.
